Summary: The Business Development Associate supports direct sales throughout the assigned region and industry by driving lead generation, lead qualification, pipeline management, and partnership with the Directors of Business Development. This role is externally facing and accountable for helping to drive growth in support of senior Business Development talent who own the closing of SAAS+ (SAAS subscription with well-scoped service component) deals from 350K to 2M annual with enterprise institutions. The candidate has an upbeat, energetic, and competitive style with intellectual curiosity or passion for software/big data, structured business analysis, client relationships, and learning how to influence through consultation.


  • The Business Development Associate (BDA) owns lead generation to uncover and craft new opportunities that help drive/close new business
  • Appointment setting (contact prospects, speak intelligently about our products and services, and schedule qualified, confirmed meetings for the outbound sales team)
  • Running customized email and calling campaigns
  • Procuring quality opportunities on a weekly and monthly basis
  • Documenting daily activities in CRM and other systems as needed
  • Working closely with the sales team to accelerate sales cycle and to extend reach into target accounts
  • Effectively qualifying leads through structured business analysis

  • BA/BS (or MA/MS) in relevant field
  • 1-3 years experience in sales, business development, consulting, financial services, product training, customer experience (internships included!)
  • Strong working knowledge of customer relationship building
  • High learning agility and energy to develop business to business sales capabilities through hard work, active listening, & practice
  • Basic knowledge of research methods & software systems
  • Polished interpersonal style, strong communication skills, and solid emotional intelligence
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong alignment with core organizational values
