The Client Data Engineer (Account Manager) serves as a data analytics expert & customer partner to support execution and translation of customer needs using proprietary software products. This role supports a single client with knowledge in the areas of analytics, Python, R, client-facing relationship management, problem/solution mapping, API integrations, Ruby, & Scala.

  • Serve as collaborative, subject matter resource on data analytics, research design, machine learning and statistics to drive customer success
  • Develop internal and external relationships to serve on project team as customer partner to simplify conversations around using data to solve business problems
  • Assess, identify, & translate analytical environment/data sources to potential customer value
  • Process client data, optimize scripts and workflows, configure models, perform analysis on internal and external data as needed
  • Act as voice of customer internally to translate business needs to engineering, writing technical specifications
  • Anticipate data security risks, advocating for 360 degree information security & compliance
  • Partner with business development to devise appropriate solutions and quantify the business value
  • Support Sales and Account Management in pre- and post- sales engagements as a technical partner
  • Execute project tasks and oversee modules of work on time and budget with internal and client stakeholders, including analytics, data enrichment, workflow design, client impact analysis, product interpretation, & customer business requirements analysis
  • Onsite as needed under direction of client and pod leaders, 20-50% of the time
  • Ability to learn & execute diverse data & analytics functions including data engineering, data science, & database architecture


  • Degree from accredited university in relevant field
  • 1-2 years relevant experience OR combined experience & education
  • Ability to use/learn languages such as Python, Ruby, Scala and/or R to mine datasets, predict patterns, & perform data engineering
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to build statistical models, regression and classification, that generate usable insight from raw and/or messy, large datasets
  • Knowledge of research design, machine learning methods, data engineering, and cost-benefit analysis
  • Ability to manage projects effectively and on time
  • Polished interpersonal style, strong communication skills, and solid emotional intelligence
  • Ability to simplify complex data services/solutions through clear, direct communication
